ERURS Executive Team

I've been refereeing in Edmonton since 2011 and in that time, I have occupied many roles with ERURS, including Development Officer for 5 years before becoming President. I currently referee in a number of organizations, including Rugby Alberta, Rugby Canada, World Rugby and Major League Rugby. I have a passion for always improving as a referee and helping others to do the same.

I was elected to the ERURS Executive Board in 2019 and served as the Treasurer until 2024. I've continued on this year as a Member-At-Large helping out in various areas. I joined the board for two main reasons. First, I was in school studying accounting and figured this would be an excellent way to build up my resume. The second is that age diversity is a big miss for most boards. As a society, the ERURS relies on building and developing the next generation of referees. I hope to advocate for the younger referees and build up the ERURS through recruitment and retention. I now hold a Bachelor of Commerce, Double Major - Accounting and Business Law, and I plan on pursuing law school in the coming years.

I enjoy refereeing because it keeps me active, allows me to teach players in a different way and it keeps me involved in the local rugby community. I joined the ERURS board mainly because I have a hard time saying "no", but also because I want to help contribute to the betterment of refereeing around the Edmonton area.
